Who are we?
We want to create a world which is more connected, inclusive and secure. For 25 years we have been operating at the heart of the internet infrastructure as proud guardians of the .UK domain name registry. Our understanding of the Domain Name System (DNS) underpins a sophisticated cyber security capability used by governments to secure their networks. Our commercial success funds an ambitious programme to improve the lives of 1 million young people a year through technology.
We are a world-leading domain name registry. We run .UK - part of the UK's critical national infrastructure - and over 75 top level domains, including .bbc, .wales and .london.
Our experience in running and protecting one of the largest internet registries has enabled us to use our expertise in DNS to develop Protective DNS solutions. Our delivery of the National Cyber Security Centre’s (NCSC) Protective DNS (PDNS) secures 6m of users across the UK public sector.
Technology has the power to transform lives by creating opportunities and providing support where it’s needed most. Our social impact programmes provide support and opportunities to tackle some of the most important digital issues facing young people in the UK today.

Helping our environment
We are committed to reducing the negative impact our business activities may have on the environment and lowering our carbon emissions through our carbon reduction plan to support our net-zero 2050 goal. In FY21 we achieved carbon neutrality for our UK operations and global data centre use via PAS 2060 certification. We offset our measured carbon through an international deforestation and land-use change project in Indonesia, and our continued commitment to the UK Forestry through our investment in the Nominet Forest.
