Use the renew command to renew a domain name registration and the unrenew command to cancel a renew command.  For more information about renewing .uk domain names, please read our renewal process.

Renewing a domain name

  1. In the domains section on the start page, click Go. This will load the domain list.
  2. In the domain list, select the domain name(s) you wish to renew and click Renew.
(If you click Renew without selecting any domain names, a text box appears in which you can enter a line-delimited custom list of domain name(s) to renew.)
  3. Verify that the correct domain names are selected, then click Renew Domains > to renew the domain name(s).

Additional

  • The earliest a renew command can be performed on a domain name is six months before the expiry date.
  • A renew command will work after expiry, until the domain name is cancelled.
  • A domain name can be renewed automatically by setting the 'auto-bill' or 'next-bill' field.

Unrenewing a domain name

  1. In the accounts section on the start page, click Go. This will load the account list.
  2. In the domain list, click on the domain name you wish to unrenew.
  3. In the domain name view, click Unrenew.
(If the unrenew button is not available, then the domain name is not eligible to be unrenewed).
  4. Verify that the correct domain name is selected, then click Unrenew Domain to unrenew the domain name.

Additional

  • The unrenew command has a limited timescale during which it will be successful. Renewal cancellations will only be accepted up until the generation of your monthly invoice (midnight at the end of the 7th day in the month following renewal).
  • A successful unrenew command will email the registrant notifying them of the renewal reversal.
