Use this command to change a domain name after the initial registration. There are four procedures you can use to modify a domain name with the Web Domain Manager.
Modifying domain or nameserver information
This changes nameservers or domain information, such as the auto-bill status of a domain name.
- In the domains section on the start page, click Go. This will load the domain list.
- In the domain list, select the domain name(s) you wish to change and click Modify.
(If you click Modify without selecting any domain names, a text box appears in which you can enter a line-delimited custom list of domain names to modify.)
- Enter the changes you would like to make to the domain name(s) and click Continue >.
- Verify that the details of the modification are correct, then click Modify Domain to update the domain name(s).
Modifying account information
This changes account information, such as the address or opt-out status.
- In the accounts section on the start page, click Go. This will load the account list.
- In the account list, select the account(s) you wish to change and click Modify Accounts.
(If you click Modify Accounts without selecting any accounts, a text box appears in which you can enter a line-delimited custom list of ID's of the accounts you wish to modify.)
- Enter the changes you would like to make to the accounts(s) and click Continue >.
- Verify that the details of the modification are correct, then click Modify Account to update the account(s).
Modifying contact information
This changes contact information, such as the phone number or email address.
- In the accounts section on the start page, click Go. This will load the account list.
- In the account list, select the account you wish to change and click Modify Contact.
- Click Edit to make changes to an existing contact or New Contact to add a new contact.
- Once your changes are complete, click Save. This will update the contact.
Modifying a nameserver object
This changes the IP address (glue record) of a nameserver.
Warning: Modifying a nameserver object changes the nameserver information for every .uk domain name using that nameserver.
- In the domains section on the start page, click Go. This will load the domain list.
- Click on a domain name using the nameserver you wish to change.
(The nameserver filter may helpful in finding an appropriate domain name).
- In the domain view, click on the nameserver you wish to change.
- Click Modify nameserver.
- Enter the changes you would like to make to the nameserver object and click next >.
- Verify that the details of the modification are correct, then click Modify Nameserver to update the nameserver object.
Additional
- You can only modify a nameserver object if you hold either the nameserver's superordinate domain name or all domain names linked to the nameserver.
