Use this command to register a new .uk domain name. There are two procedures you can use to create a new domain name with the Web Domain Manager.
Acceptable Use Limit:
You will be blocked from registering domain names if you attempt to create more than 1,000 domain names that already exist in a rolling-24 period. For full details, please read our
acceptable use policy.
Creating a domain name for a new registrant
This creates a new account for Nominet's Online Services and generates a welcome email for your registrant.
- In the domains section on the start page, click Go. This will load the domain list.
- Click Create Domain.
- Enter the domain name you wish to register and click Continue >.
(If you want to register multiple domain names to the same registrant, click Add more domains). - Enter the account details for the domain name you wish to register and click Continue >.
- You can choose a nameserver and click Continue >.
(A nameserver is optional but the domain name cannot resolve until a nameserver is provided). - Verify that the details for the domain name registration are correct, then click Create Domain to register the domain name.
Creating a domain name for an existing registrant
This uses the registrant's existing details and links the domain name to their Online Services account. A welcome email will not be sent to the registrant.
- In the accounts section on the start page, click Go. This will load the account list.
- In the account list, select the account you wish to add a domain name to and click Create Domain.
- Enter the domain name you wish to register and click Continue >.
(If you want to register multiple domain names to the same registrant, click Add more domains). - You can choose a nameserver and click Continue >.
(A nameserver is optional but the domain name cannot resolve until a nameserver is provided). - Verify that the details for the domain name registration are correct, then click Create Domain to register the domain name.
