You can use the
unlock account operation undo an account lock. If you have changed your decision to lock an account, you can use this operation to reverse the lock.
We recommend that you read about our
object based data structure which will explain how
unlock account differs from the standard
domain unlock.
When you use the
unlock account operation, be aware of the following:

Use of this operation is governed by our
anti-abuse guidelines. Make sure you are familiar with these guidelines before unlocking an account.
How to unlock an account:
- Create a new email message to applications@nic.uk
- Use the subject TAG Account Unlock (replace TAG with your tag name in capital letters).
- Use the following template in your email message:
operation: unlock
account-id:
lock-type:
Notes:
- The lock-type may be 'investigation' or 'opt-out'.
- It is mandatory to include values for all the fields in this template. For more information on template fields, see our field definitions.
- To unlock more than one account, you can repeat the account-id: field separated by a blank line up to 100 times.
- PGP sign and send the email.
You will receive
confirmation from the Automaton if the operation is successful. In addition, a notification email will be sent to the registrant of the domain name.
