Release date: Tuesday 6 March 2012, 07:00 (GMT) At 07:00 (GMT) on Tuesday 6 March 2012 we will have a systems outage lasting about one hour when we will be deploying a software upgrade. During this time all registration systems, Online Services and Business Intelligence (BI) will be unavailable. The Automaton will not process email requests, but they will be received and queued for processing when it restarts.
We are changing the way that the WHOIS lookup web links work in the PRSS alert emails. PRSS users will now be directed to a WHOIS output page, within the PRSS system, when they click on the WHOIS lookup link in the alert email and will need to log-in to see the WHOIS output.
All other Nominet systems will continue to work as normal during this period.
As part of our ongoing
data quality improvement programme, we will be restricting the registrant name to be at least 4 characters long containing a minimum of 3 letters. This restriction will be applied to new registrations in EPP, Automaton and the Web Domain Manager and also to registrant transfers. This will be released for testing in March and released live in April.
