At 07:00 (GMT) on Thursday 12 January 2012 we will be carrying out maintenance to our registration systems infrastructure for about an hour. During this time Online Services, Business Intelligence (BI) and all registration systems will be unavailable. All other Nominet systems will continue to work as normal during this period.

During this period we are testing our backup and business continuity systems and will be running services from our backup data centre. If your connections to our services use DNS then you should not experience any significant interruptions. If, however you use fixed IP addresses then you will be unable to connect to our servers during the test period.

We will be upgrading the libraries that we use to validate PGP signatures. The new library we are using adheres more strictly to the PGP standard (RFC 4880) and as a result messages with trailing whitespace at the end of any lines may not be validated. In this situation, an appropriate error message will be returned.
